Summer 2008 is about colour. After last year's washout - the fashion houses are crazy for colour and this means makeup will be lighter and more subtle:

Start by brightening the skin with an illuminator - Mac Strobe Cream or Issima Precious light smoothing iluminator. Concentrate around the eyes and cheekbones to add light and lift.

Follow with a flawless foundation in places where you need it. Not too heavy as to create the outdoors look, and keep it fresh. Dior and Prescriptives are good.

Brush eyelids with a dusky pink, smokey pinks such as a shimmer wash in Rose Gold from Bobbi Brown. Sushi from Mac.

Then flush up the cheeks with either a cheek tint/ stain. These give a good density of colour to the face and last longer than a cream or powder. Try Benetint or Max Factor blush in Natural Glow.

Only use a hint of colour on the lips, keep it quite nude, dap a nude, pale pink sheer lipstick/coloured balm to the lips concentrating on the centre.

Finish with a thick balck mascara - Mac pro lash. Yves Saint Laurent False Lash.
